As a Software Engineer in our Sydney hub, you’ll work on a high‑impact product team delivering new features and scaling the platform on AWS. This permanent role offers a competitive AU$130,000 base salary and the chance to shape the next generation of payment technology.
Design, develop, and maintain micro‑services using Node.js and React, adhering to clean‑code principles.
Implement and optimise AWS infrastructure (Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3) to support high‑throughput, low‑latency payment flows.
Collaborate with product owners and designers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Build CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using Terraform, Docker, and GitHub Actions.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and drive reliability improvements (SLA/SLO).
Integrate third‑party payment gateways and ensure PCI‑DSS compliance.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical documentation.
5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Node.js and React.
Hands‑on experience building and operating services on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), containerisation (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
Direct experience with payment processing systems, APIs, and security standards (PCI‑DSS, OAuth).
Proficiency with version control (Git) and test‑driven development (unit/integration tests).
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
Desirable: Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, and serverless architectures.
