About the Role

Join Atlassian's Jira platform team as a Senior Software Engineer. You'll architect and build the backend systems powering millions of developers worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement scalable microservices in Java/Kotlin

• Drive technical direction within a cross-functional squad

• Improve system observability, reliability, and performance

• Mentor junior engineers and review code

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering

• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)

• Strong Java or Kotlin skills; Kotlin is a plus

• Experience with CI/CD, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
